Karis is a 17-PQE human rights and white-collar crime Compliance lawyer, with Chief Data Privacy Officer and ESG lead experience. Karis holds an MA in Jurisprudence from Oxford and an MSc in Psychology from UEL, the CISI qualification in Financial Compliance, and is mid-certification in the CIPP/E in Data Privacy, the Certified Fraud Examiner and the FCPA Certification courses.

HUMAN RIGHTS EXPERIENCE Karis leads a project on the domestication of the Maputo Protocol on the Rights of Women in Tanzania in a Maternal Health Rights Bill as part of the Every Woman Every Girl UN OHCHR Project. She has worked for Liberty (the National Council of Civil Liberties), HMP Holloway Women's Prison with the Prison Advice and Care Trust, TortureCare (the Medical Foundation for Victims of Torture), UnLtd, the Hackney Community Law Centre, and the Newham Education Business Mentoring scheme, amongst various social enterprises and charities, and completed AMICUS death penalty defense training in order to coordinate law students research in to the death penalty in the central Americas.
Karis is one of Courvoisier's "Future 500" and a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and Sciences and the British American Project- appointments which recognise pioneers, entrepreneurs and young leaders from the arts, social enterprise, business, science, gastronomy, fashion and beyond.
She is on the Appeals Panel of the Women's Equality Party and on the Steering Committee of the Lawyer's Circle, a network of influential women brought together by Annie Lennox in conjunction with Raising Her Voice and Oxfam.
She supports the Bill of Rights Defense Committee, the THINK.ACT.VOTE and WASTE campaigns, the Hogar Villegas Orphanage in Bolivia and the Kay Mason Foundation.
